Our Commitment To Privacy

The Information We Collect

This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the Apiary website, Apiary email, and the Apiary applications and services for iPhone, iPad, Android, Kindle, and other devices and platforms, hereafter referred to as simply Apiary. Apiary occasionally needs to collect information for convenience, practicality, or technical requirements. This information includes:

Your name.
Your email address as your username. A username is technically required so you can log in from multiple computers and devices.
Your chosen Apiary password. A hash of your password is stored in the Apiary database, and the plain-text password is only used for hash comparison to the stored value. Note that this only applies if you choose to sign up with your email and a password: if you sign up using Amazon or Apple, we cannot view your password for those services.
All information and data that includes but is not limited to the newsletters/emails you receive, as well as the notes you make on/about said newsletters, open rates, how long you read each newsletter, and other data around your activity inside Apiary. We retain this information and data to maintain and enhance the Apiary experience and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
How you use Apiary’s features. We retain data regarding what features you use, how often you use them, and under what circumstances you use them. This helps us maintain and enhance the Apiary experience.

Like most Web sites, Apiary also collects and stores information automatically and through the use of electronic tools that may be transparent to our visitors. For example, we may log the name of your Internet Service Provider, your IP address, and information provided by and about your Internet browser. As we adopt additional technology, we may also gather similar information through other means.

The Way We Use Information

We use the information you provide to deliver Apiary's features, as well as to enhance the Apiary experience. We may sell data generated from our users to advertisers, publishers, etc. We use your email address to send you your Apiary-generated email address, periodic updates regarding Apiary’s features, and to answer any emails we receive from you.

We use user information to better design Apiary, suggest content to users, and share with advertisers, publishers, etc.

External services beyond Apiary's control are integrated with Apiary where necessary, such as Amazon, Meta, and Google Analytics for traffic measurement and tracking.

Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Apiary makes reasonable efforts to ensure that all integrated external services are trustworthy and reputable, but Apiary cannot be held responsible for data collection and usage by such services.

Our Commitment To Data Security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Our Commitment To Children's Privacy

Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our website from those we actually know are under 18, and no part of our website is structured to attract anyone under 18.

How You Can Access Or Correct Your Information

Due to the nature of backups and logs, deleted data may persist in backups and logs until they are deleted.
